The History of Clover Avenue School
Clover Avenue School opened its doors in September 1954 to 55 excited and energetic neighborhood students. Clover currently serves almost 550 students on the very same campus, with the addition of many new facilities, including a Wonder of Reading Library, a state-of-the-art computer lab, newly planted trees, a renovated playground and kindergarten play area, and several gardens, including a Literacy Garden.
Parent involvement has always been a strong and essential component of the successful and collaborative educational program at Clover. Parents and community members volunteer in classrooms, the library, workshops, valet drop-off program, as well as participating in the decision-making process through our School Site Council, Learn Council, Booster Club and PTA.
The dedicated teaching, administrative and support staff have consistently strived to integrate innovative and traditional teaching methods. The hard work of the Clover community has resulted in high test scores an students who are academically, socially and emotionally well-prepared to move on to the next phase of their education.
In 2004, we at Clover proudly celebrated our 50th anniversary with a day-long reunion picnic and grand celebration. So far, we are enjoying our second 50 years here at Clover. We hope that, if you join our family, you’ll feel the same.
