Clover Avenue School Booster Club Direct Donation (Ongoing)
Dear Clover families,
After a short summer, Clover is off to a great start – our campus looks beautiful, there are aides helping teachers and supplies in the classrooms. Soon the children will start the full and varied academic experience at Clover, from computer lab, to physical education, to ceramic art.
All of the expenses mentioned above are paid for through your direct donations to the Clover Booster Club. In fact, the school district does not pay for all of what our children rely upon for their elementary education. In recent years, as LAUSD has cut more and more from classrooms and services, Clover parents such as yourselves have stepped up to make up the difference. Direct donation to Clover is our most important fundraiser, because every penny raised goes directly to pay for your child’s expenses. The Booster Club spends:
$68,000 on teaching assistants
$24,000 on computer instruction
$18,000 on physical education
$7,000 on staff support, including classroom supplies
$4,000 on school gardens and gardener
At Clover, every child benefits from these programs. Thus, our children need everyone to give in order to sustain them. We are asking families to give $400 per child to cover these necessities for their children’s education. $400 for this year is less than $8 per week. Eight dollars might buy you a couple cups of coffee, or a simple lunch, but nothing as important as your child’s education.
To sweeten the deal, every classroom that achieves 100% participation will have a cookie party celebrating their achievement and their dedication to Clover. In addition, this year we have other incentives for you, Clover parents, to emphasize our appreciation for your support. If you donate $200 per child by October 31, you will receive a special Clover keychain. If you donate the entire $400 per child by October 31 you will receive a special edition direct donation T-shirt declaring that you support Clover 100%! We understand if you can’t make the full donation by October 31, however, so if you pledge to donate the full amount, you’ll get your keychain and your T-shirt when you make good on your pledge.
There are a number of ways to donate. Of course, you can return the form on the opposite side with your check payable to Clover Booster Club. If you’d like, you can give us a post-dated check, or a series of post-dated checks, and we’ll hold them until their time. Or you can go to www.cloveraveschool.org and pay via PayPal. You can also find us at the Halloween Hurrah, and other Clover events, and pay by credit card.
