Clover Avenue School Booster Club Pledge Drive (Ongoing)

Dear Clover parents:

At Clover we pride ourselves on a rich academic experience for our children.  We have high expectations and our children work hard.  But a rich academic environment does not come from books and reading and math alone.  It comes from a full and varied experience, such as physical education, computer classes, exposure to the arts, and library access.  The district does not pay for these expenses; the Clover Booster Club does through the contributions of parents and supporters like you.  The Booster Club also supports bare necessities such as teaching assistants and classroom supplies.

Our most important fundraiser is this one, the pledge drive, because every penny raised goes directly to pay for Booster Club’s expenses.  The Booster Club spends:

          $39,000 on teaching assistants

          $24,000 on computer instruction

          $19,000 on physical education

          $7,000 on staff support, including classroom supplies

At Clover, every child benefits from these programs.  Thus, our children need everyone to give in order to sustain them.  We would like you to consider a gift of $400 per child.  $400 for this year is less than $8 per week.  What would you buy with $8 during the week?  A couple cups of coffee, or a simple lunch?  What would you spend $8 on this week that would be more important than your child’s academic environment?

More important than the amount you give, however, is the fact that you give.  We are aiming for 100% participation this year, so please consider a gift in whatever range you are comfortable with.  To sweeten the deal, every classroom that reaches 100% participation will receive a cookie party.  And the classroom that raises the most money at the end of the year will enjoy an ice cream extravaganza.

Teacher’s aides, computer classes, physical education --- our kids can’t do without them, but we can’t provide them without you.  We ask that everyone give . . . because everyone benefits.
